在我聽過的幾部音樂劇中，『歌劇魅影』和『悲慘世界』是我最喜歡的兩部。大約是大二或大三的時候，因為學長斌的強力推薦，開始聽『悲慘世界』。當我還完全不瞭解劇情的時候，吸引我的第一首歌曲就是『Do you hear the people sing?』，在眾人的歌聲中，就可以聽到屬於人民劇烈、強大的憤怒。而且，這麼多年來，我總是每隔一段時間，就自然而然在心中浮起『悲慘世界』的音樂，然後就會趕快再把它挖出來，讓自己可以浸在這音樂之中。

儘管此劇的愛情戲份是在Marius和Cosette的身上，但真正的靈魂人物卻絕對是Jean Valjean，貫穿全劇！儘管此劇結束在Valjean過世之後，但他卻是一個真實、忠於自我、幾乎無愧於任何人的英雄，反之，警長Javert雖然也是個好漢子，忠於國家、忠於職守，但我想，只能落得悲劇英雄的考語吧；一直以為自己是往一個對的方向前進，到最後才發現對不起人民、也對不起自己的良心；從第三者的觀眾的角度來看，怎麼也不能說Javert是錯的。Javert和Jean Valjean數次對峙，都讓我聽得既慷慨激昂卻又覺得沈重，因為這兩人其實都是鐵錚錚的好漢子啊～

『悲慘世界』與『鐘樓怪人』一樣，都是雨果小說所改編，儘管都穿插著愛情，但屬於時代的沈重、人民的哀傷，才是最震動人心的。而『歌劇魅影』則全然不同，雖然一樣動人，卻是小我的、愛情的，讓人關注自己內在、纖細的情感變化。明年初，三大之一的『歌劇魅影』便會登陸台灣，雖然很貴、雖然我早在大二便在舊金山看過，但是為了和小黃一同觀賞、也為了現在比較瞭解這部音樂劇，於是我還是趕時髦地買了票。但何時，才能親身觀賞『悲慘世界』呢？
